Anna Basler
I look forward to the exciting adventure of being your child's kindergarten teacher!
This is my eighth year teaching kindergarten at Claymont. Prior to Claymont I taught preschool at Cornerstone Early Learning Center. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and Spanish from St. Louis University and a Master’s in Elementary Administration from Lindenwood University.
I am married to my husband Matt, and we have a one year old son named Bennett. Last year I was on an extended maternity-leave, and I stayed home with Bennett. He loves animals, trucks, and playing in water! He brings us great joy. We also have two cats named Sophie and Oscar; the students will hear many stories about them. In my free time I enjoy traveling, running, reading, and visiting with friends.

My Philosophy of Education:
- To teach young children in a developmentally appropriate manner
- To provide a hands-on, workshop and center-based approach to learning
- To recognize the needs of each child
- To provide a stimulating, challenging, and encouraging environment
- To provide a classroom in which each child can share creativity, take risks, and ask questions
- To share and facilitate a life-long love for learning
My Philosophy of Behavior Management:
- To allow children to participate in setting classroom expectations
- To redirect children to more appropriate behavior or choices
- To guide and model conflict-resolution and encourage student to student discussion
- To provide space where a child can be alone and quiet
- To problem solve as a class during our regular meetings
